An invoice-level data file contains rows of information related to a single invoice, such as the invoice number, date, customer name, total amount, and applicable taxes.

On the other hand, a line-level data file contains rows with detailed information about each item or service included in the invoice, such as product code, quantity, unit price, and total cost.

The main difference between an invoice-level and a line-level transaction data file is the level of detail they provide. Invoice-level files are more aggregated, summarizing the entire transaction, while line-level files provide a more detailed view of individual items or services.

In LumaTax, the type of file you indicate influences which fields you need to map and how our tools will aggregate your data.
