Invite a previously-added client to LumaTax

How to invite a client to complete a survey after you have already added them to your client list.

In LumaTax, you can invite clients to input their own information via a nexus study and securely upload transaction data and documents. Or, if you prefer, you can complete a client's profile and upload data yourself.

This article explains how to Invite a client after you have already added them to your client list. Follow the steps below.


  1. From the Practice Summary homepage, click Clients. You can also access this page by clicking Clients in the upper right corner. 
  2. To the left of the client's name, click the Invite button.
  3. Complete or verify the pre-filled fields for Client First Name, Client Last Name, and Client Email.
  4. Click Send Invite.

Has my client accepted the invite? The Client Connect column on your Client list will indicate if the client is "invited" or has "joined." If you need steps to resend the invitation, see Resend an invitation to a client.

Tip: Let clients know to expect an email from support@lumatax.com. They should also check spam/junk/promotion folders if they cannot locate the email.
